The Heart Behind Flowing Connections Counseling
I’m Mali Sawyer, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-9988) in Idaho and founder of Flowing Connections Counseling in Boise, Idaho. I help high-functioning adults move beyond survival mode into a life that feels calm, clear, and fulfilling. My approach blends traditional Person Centered therapy with movement and nature—because I believe healing happens most powerfully when we feel safe, connected, and alive. My goal is to help you feel grounded, confident, and free.
FLOWING INTO SOMETHING NEW
Flowing Connections Counseling didn’t start in a traditional office. I’ve always been active—on the trails, in the foothills, paddleboarding on the river—and I’ve seen firsthand how nature opens us up in ways four walls can’t. Even before becoming a counselor, I knew movement and connection could spark real change. Now, I combine that passion with my clinical expertise to help people shift from “just getting by” to truly thriving.

CONNECTION THAT MOVES YOU
Healing isn’t about sitting still and following a script—it’s about breaking routine, getting out of your head, and reconnecting with what matters most. Walking in the foothills, biking along the Boise River, or even standing on a paddleboard can clear the noise so your mind has space to think, feel, and heal. When we move our bodies, our thoughts often follow—making space for the clarity and answers you’ve been looking for.
WHY I DO THIS I know what it’s like to feel capable on the outside but restless and uncertain on the inside. Through movement, connection, and intention, I’ve experienced the shift from survival mode to a life that feels purposeful, steady, and full of possibility. Now, I’m here to walk—sometimes literally—alongside you as you create that same shift for yourself.

Meet Mali
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi, I’m Mali Sawyer (LPC 9988) — a licensed professional counselor and nationally certified counselor based in Boise, Idaho. I earned my master’s in counseling from Boise State University and have experience as both a school and clinical counselor.
My approach is person-centered, which means I believe the relationship itself is the most important part of therapy. Together, we create a space built on trust, empathy, and authenticity — where you can show up fully as yourself.
I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help you understand and heal the deeper parts of yourself with compassion and curiosity. This approach supports long-term growth by helping you build harmony within your inner world.
Outside the therapy room, I’m active and outside, love spending time with my dog and family, and am currently learning to knit and play piano. I bring humor, warmth, and realness into my sessions because I believe therapy should feel human — not clinical. It’s truly my life calling.
